We don't collect your data. There is no backend server.
Your Data
TripChunker does not collect your data. There is no backend server. Everything you enter stays on your device or in your own iCloud account.
- Trip plans — destinations, dates, route preferences, and settings you enter are stored on your device.
- Location (when in use) — used on-device to set your departure point. We have no server to send it to.
- Calendar (with your permission) — the app only writes events you explicitly choose to export.
- Photos (optional) — if you pick a photo for a trip card, only that photo is stored locally.
How Your Data Is Stored
All trip data is stored on your device. If you enable iCloud sync in Settings, your trips are also synced to your private iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit — only you can access it.
Your settings (vehicle preferences, vignette costs, etc.) are stored locally, or in your iCloud key-value store when sync is enabled.
No data is stored on any server we operate, because we don't operate any.
Apple Services
To calculate routes, find addresses, and show weather, TripChunker uses built-in Apple services. These send limited data to Apple:
- Route calculation — sends origin and destination coordinates to Apple MapKit.
- Address search — sends your search text to Apple for geocoding.
- Weather — sends coordinates and dates to Apple WeatherKit (optional, can be disabled in Settings).
- Hotel search — sends stopover coordinates to Apple Maps.
This data is handled under Apple's own privacy policy. No data is sent to any non-Apple server.
No Tracking or Analytics
TripChunker does not use any third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising frameworks. We do not collect usage statistics, crash reports beyond what Apple provides through MetricKit, or any personally identifiable information.
Third-Party Links
Your data is never shared automatically with any third party. When you choose to open a stopover in Park4Night or CamperContact, the coordinates are included in the link — but only because you tapped the button. No data is sent in the background.
Data Deletion
You can delete individual trips at any time from the trip list. If iCloud sync is enabled, deletions sync across all your devices.
